Musing over a title for this volume I realized just how strong the bond continues to hold me to the west Tennessee soil. It has been more than half a century since I traded my rural background for the more urban lifestyle, but, like a magnet, I am constantly drawn back to my childhood. I decided to call this second attempt “Anchored to the Soil,” subtitled “West Tennessee Taproot” Volume II. It says exactly how I feel about my boyhood experiences.
